Check the boat's profile
Lower anything that projects above the cabin before a low bridge or tunnel. Crew should be inside the boat profile and away from the roof where clearance is uncertain.
Approach in control
Look for an oncoming boat and follow local signals, lighting and passage instructions. Slow down early so you can stop without being pushed towards masonry by wind or current.
Keep a steady line
Inside a tunnel, use the required lights and stay aware of wash, walls and other craft. If the route or clearance is doubtful, stop in a safe place and seek the authority's current guidance.
