Use a dedicated hose
Store drinking water fittings clean and capped, and avoid dipping the hose end in a canal or puddle. Use the designated potable water tap.
Watch for leaks
Learn where the pump, tank and isolation points are. A pump that cycles when no tap is open can be a clue that water is escaping somewhere.
Prepare for frost
Follow the boat's winter procedure if leaving it unused. Pipes, pumps and heaters can be damaged by freezing; an occupied boat still needs attention to exposed runs.
