Know your installation
A portable cassette normally needs a designated chemical toilet disposal point. A fixed holding tank needs a compatible pump-out service. Ask how your boat works before the tank is full.
Find a working facility
Check current opening times, payment method and whether the point is operational. Carry gloves and cleaning supplies, and leave room for another boat to approach.
Leave it clean
Follow the site's instructions and rinse only where directed. Never empty toilet waste into the canal, a general drain or a drinking water point.
