Keep a torch, charged means of calling for help, first aid supplies, suitable throw line or lifebuoy, spare warm layers and basic tools where the crew can find them.
Know the boat details
Write down the boat name, location description, navigation authority and emergency contacts. An exact bridge or lock reference helps responders find you.
Review it with the crew
Check batteries and expiry dates, then show new passengers the equipment and escape routes. A kit cannot replace training or a safe decision to stay moored.
